Laser Tattoo Removal Statistics

Laser tattoo removal statistics show that people are removing tattoos more often.  While 1 in 7 Americans sporting at least one tattoo, getting inked is hardly the fringe fad it used to be. With more people getting tattoos, however, comes more people having tattoo regret.

These laser tattoo removal statistics are some of the reasons that people regret a tattoo include:

  • Having an ex’s name as a tattoo. Once the relationship ends, suddenly the tattoo seems like less of a good idea than it did at the time.
  • Outgrowing a tattoo. Many young men and young women run out to get inked as soon as they’re legally allowed. While some love their tattoos for a lifetime, others find them less endearing when they hit their 30s and beyond.
  • Concern about employment. With the job market as tight as it is, some job-hunters want to have their ink removed if it can’t be hidden easily with clothing.
  • Bad art. Sometimes, tattoos just look terrible, and the only possible fix is removal.

With a 43% increase in the number of tattoo removals in recent years, many plastic surgeons, dermatologists and other health care professionals are offering the service. Coming up over the next few weeks, we’ll talk about how to find a good laser tattoo removal expert as well as what to expect from the procedure.
